Faculty applications sought for new VUSM Portfolio Advisor Role

The School of Medicine seeks faculty applications for the role of Portfolio Advisor.

The School’s Curriculum 2.0 assessment system calls for a comprehensive student Learning Portfolio populated with data about experience and performance, which students will review at least twice each year with a Portfolio Advisor. The Portfolio Advisor will also help students create Personalized Learning Plans based on their strengths, interests and needs.

Each Portfolio Advisor will have a cohort of 10 students to follow throughout the M.D. program. We anticipate that this will require 10 percent annualized effort; therefore 0.10 FTE compensation will be offered to each Advisor. The position description (click here) provides additional details. Click for more information about Curriculum 2.0.

To apply, faculty members should email the following materials to Donna Rosenstiel ( no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, May 24:

  1. A brief statement of interest (a few paragraphs)
  2. CV
  3. Letter from department chair indicating support of application
