Medical Center-only Limited Submission Opportunity: 2015 Edward P. Evans Grants in MDS Research

Vanderbilt may nominate one candidate for the 2015 Edward P. Evans Grant for Basic or Translational Research in Myelodysplastic Syndromes.

Funding is available for laboratory-based fundamental and translational research. Each grant will total $400,000 and will be provided in two annual installments of $200,000 per year. Funding for the second year is conditional upon attainment of satisfactory progress during the first year.

A limited number of awards for a third year of funding may be available.
At the time of application, the candidate must:
・ Be a faculty member at Vanderbilt and be affiliated with the Cancer Center
・ Have demonstrated expertise and promise in the designated area(s) of research
・ Must be nominated by the cancer center director with a letter of recommendation accompanying the formal application
・ Must be either a U.S. citizen or have legal status to work in the United States.

Anyone interested in being considered as Vanderbilt’s nominee must submit the following (in PDF format) to by 5 p.m. on April 6.
1. A one-page research plan including specific aims
2. Brief statement of support from department chair/center director;
3. A brief CV or NIH Biosketch

Submissions should reference the program name in the subject line of the email.

Once received, all proposals will be forwarded to an internal review committee that will choose the final nominee. The Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center will submit a letter of intent with the chosen nominee’s proposal materials to the foundation by the June 1 deadline.
