Health Literacy Research and Resources presentation is tomorrow
Health literacy refers to the capacity to obtain, process and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions.
Previous research has shown that low health literacy is associated with poor health outcomes including shortened life, decreased quality of life, worsening chronic disease, increased health disparities and higher healthcare costs. Presenters will describe current health literacy research at Vanderbilt and resources available through the Center for Effective Health Communication.
