Nominations and applications open for director of Medical Scientist Training Program
Vanderbilt University School of Medicine is seeking nominations and applications for the director of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP).
The primary goal of the MSTP is to prepare students for positions of leadership in academic medicine and the biomedical sciences. Successful completion of the program leads to both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. The director is responsible for all aspects of the program, including student recruitment, training, mentoring and career development; faculty development for key MSTP roles; and operational and budgetary administration of the program.
The director also serves as the principle investigator of the MSTP T32 NIH training grant. Qualifications include an M.D., Ph.D., or M.D. and Ph.D. degrees, an active research program, experience in medical and graduate education and experience in training program administration.
