VUMC employees get new website for backup child care and adult care

Starting Nov. 15, VUMC employees can use the new, user-friendly website or Care@work app to book backup childcare or adult care. offers VUMC employees in-home childcare and adult care at a subsidized rate of $13 per hour. You may use up to a combined total of 20 calendar days of adult care and/or childcare per fiscal year (July 1 through June 30).

How to enroll

Enrollment is quick and easy. Simply go to and click on the Enroll now button. You will need your VUMC employee ID number when you enroll. If you don't know your number, you can find it by logging in to C2HR and then looking in the sidebar to the right. Your employee ID number will be directly under your name.

How to use the benefit

Once you've enrolled, it's easy to request a caregiver. You can use the portal or the Care@work app — both are available 24/7 from your laptop, desktop, tablet or smartphone. If you don’t have a computer you can call 855-781-1303.

Payment is easy too — your credit card will be charged once the care is received and the hours have been confirmed.

The portal includes a dashboard that tells you how many days of backup care you have used. As a reminder, VUMC employees have a combined total of 20 calendar days of adult care and/or child care per fiscal year (July 1 through June 30).

For employees who previously used or Parents in a Pinch

  • You will need to re-enroll at because your previous registration will not carry over.
  • The website will not reflect the backup care days you used from July 1- Nov. 14, 2016. It will appear that you still have all 20 days remaining, but that is not the case. Please call at 855-781-1303 to verify your number of days.
  • You will pay caregivers through using a credit card, after the care is received and the hours have been verified. You will not pay caregivers directly.
