A roundup of a few recent positive stories from the press about Vanderbilt University Medical Center:

 Stacy Dorris, M.D., assistant professor of Pediatrics, Pediatric Allergy, Immunology and Pulmonary Medicine, was interviewed for a story about allergies during the holidays.

William Schaffner, M.D., professor of Preventive Medicine, for a Scientific American  story about the current mumps outbreak in the U.S.

Jesse Ehrenfeld, M.D., associate professor of Anesthesiology, was quoted in a USA Today story about transgender patients in Iowa seeking lifesaving medical treatments 

Cosby Stone,Jr., M.D., and clinical fellow at the Asthma, Sinus, Allergy, Program, was interviewed by WSMV News Channel 4 about the increase of sinus infections this season. 

Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt CEO Luke Gregory was quoted in a WZTV Fox 17  interview about 10-year singer Ella Beckham who presented at $3,700 check to the hopsital, as part of the royalties from her first song. 

Amy Myers, PharmD BCPS, clinical pharmacist, Internal Medicine, was interviewed for a Prevention Magazine story about a “drug holiday” - what it means to take a break from a medication, who might benefit from the practice, and how to go about doing so with doctor supervision.
