A Popular Science story about the scientific research community nationwide pulling together to help scientists and labs displaced by Harvey mentions the generosity of BethAnn McLaughlin, Ph.D., assistant professor of Neurology and Pharmacology, who offered space in her lab and her house for stranded researchers.

Time reporter Markham Heid quoted William Schaffner, M.D., professor of  Preventive Medicine, in a story about vacation illness, and why people may be more likely to get sick while on holiday.

Parents reporter Tina Donvito interviewed Sarah Osmundson, M.D., assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, for a story about her study on opioid use after C-sections. 

The Tennessean reported that Manny Sethi, M.D., associate professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, will testify before the Senate Health, Education Labor and Pensions Committee on Sept. 14 as the committee looks for ways to strengthen the individual health insurance market.
