VUMC IT to host Cyber Security Town Hall Oct. 5
To help educate the Medical Center workforce regarding the most common cyber threats and simple ways to keep our organization safe, and in observance of Cyber Security Awareness Month, VUMC IT will be hosting a Cyber Security Town Hall on Thursday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in 208 Light Hall. Everyone is welcome to attend this informational seminar designed to notify and advise our workforce about current cyber threats the Medical Center faces every day.
The Town Hall will cover topics about understanding Internet attackers, how to work remotely in a safe manner, what a digital footprint is and the relationship between compliance and security. The 90-minute session will be full of information you can use now, relay to your department and put into practice with your teams to reduce the chance of falling victim to phishing attacks, personal information theft or a data breach.
Visit the VUMC IT Blog at http://www.vumc.org/it/main to see the agenda for the Town Hall, as well as weekly updates on security and information technology at VUMC. Also view and download the flyer to post in your area at http://vumc.org/it/cybersecuritytownhallflyer. Space for the event will be limited, so organizers suggest attendees arrive early.
