NIH requests comments on regulatory changes for laboratories
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare, has issued a “Request for Information” (RFI) inviting researchers and other individuals to comment on proposed approaches to reducing regulatory burden with respect to the use of laboratory animals.
The RFI is a coordinated effort of the NIH Director in collaboration with the Secretary of Agriculture and the Commissioner of Food and Drugs to reduce administrative burden on investigators while maintaining the integrity and credibility of research findings and protection of research animals. More information on the RFI can be found at https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-18-152.html.
Responses to this RFI are voluntary and may be submitted anonymously. All responses must be submitted electronically at https://grants.nih.gov/grants/rfi/rfi.cfm?ID=71 by June 12.
