Dates for respirator fit testing announced

The August and September fit testing dates have been posted on the VEHS website.

Staff who have been fit tested at Vanderbilt before are considered Annual Re-fits. As an Annual Re-fit staff can attend all offered open fit testing sessions.

Staff who have never been fit tested before at Vanderbilt are considered Initial fit testers. These staff can only attend Initial Open Fit Testing sessions, or schedule an appointment.

If the open fit testing sessions do not work with your schedule, you can email respirator@vanderbilt.edu to schedule a separate appointment.

VEHS is unable to accommodate “walk-ins”. Staff must either come to be fitted during an Open Fit Testing Session or schedule an appointment.

Reminder: Individuals must have no presence of facial hair/stubble, OR have a mustache/goatee that does not interfere with where the N-95 seals to the face to be fit tested. Shaving the same day as the fit test is recommended.

Check out this video to see acceptable facial hair styles for N-95 use.

Staff can check their Health and Wellness Information Portal to confirm that they are completely compliant with their N-95 services.
