Flood Relief Swap Friday: By Vanderbilt, For Vanderbilt

 Many in the Nashville community have been adversely affected by the flood and are in need of resource items immediately. To help, Vanderbilt University will be hosting a flood relief giveaway of items donated by its employees on Friday, May 7.

If you are in need of clothes, blankets, food, and more during this trying time, please join us and take whatever you need for free. Items were donated by Vanderbilt employees and may include gently used, clean adult and child clothing; linens (including sheets, towels, blankets, and sleeping bags); toiletries; canned/boxed food goods, bottled water; small toys; and or cleaning supplies.

All items are first-come, first-served. Any items not collected on Friday, May 7, will be donated to local charitable organizations.

What: Flood Relief Giveaway

Where: Student Life Center - Ballroom C, 310 25th Ave. S.

When: Friday, May 7, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Parking: Drop-off and loading of items will take place in the Student Life Center turnaround. Metered spaces will be available for short-term parking for swap participants only on Garland Avenue.

Students are welcome to bring donations as well. Leftover items from the swap will be donated to charitable organizations in Nashville who will distribute to the greater Nashville community.

Volunteers will also be needed to help at the swap on both days from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3-5 p.m. If you’d like to volunteer, please come to the Student Life Center Ballroom and lend a hand.
