Call for Nominations for Faculty Director of VUMC Postdoctoral Affairs

Nominations are being sought for faculty interested in serving as the director of Postdoctoral Affairs.

The director will lead the efforts of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs within VUMC’s Office of Biomedical Research Education and Training (BRET) by supporting activities related to postdoctoral recruiting, appointments, training, career development and outcomes.

The director will also serve as a faculty liaison for the VUMC Postdoctoral Association, and as a representative to VUMC leadership and at national meetings for postdoctoral affairs. The director is also charged with assembling a Faculty Advisory Board for input, coordinating the annual Postdoctoral Fellow Research Symposium and recruiting events and developing new initiatives to strengthen the postdoctoral program at Vanderbilt. Administrative support and salary support commensurate with effort will be provided to the director through BRET.

Nominations (self or independent) should include curriculum vitae of the candidate and a statement of interest in the position. Materials should be submitted electronically as a single PDF document to Susan Wente, Ph.D., associate vice chancellor for Research, senior associate dean for Biomedical Sciences, at by Sept. 15.
