You will spend a total of 9 weeks over the summer of 2019. Core curriculum is June 3rd to August 1st. You must be able to start on June 4th and complete the 9-week core curriculum in order to be eligible. You are also expected to present your research at the National Symposium at the end of the summer (July 31 - August 1, 2019).

Structure Curriculum

Monday Lecture (clinical topic)
Tuesday Diabetes Seminar
Wednesday Lecture (Basic science related to the clinical topic)
Thursday Diabetes seminar
Friday Work in Progress - informal round table discussions. Preparation of posters for the final symposium at the end of the summer.

Clinical rotations

We will also coordinate for all of the students to have a small amount of clinical exposure by attending renal clinics or wards at Vanderbilt over the course of the summer.

Summer Research Symposium at Vanderbilt (July 31 - August 1)

Attend and present research poster at the poster reception on July 29 and at the National Summer Research Symposium that is being jointly organized with the Diabetes Center at Vanderbilt.
